About VolleyGirls House League

Since 2006, success has been built on our “fun first” attitude toward training — because when players enjoy the game, they grow faster, play better, and stay passionate! VolleyGirls House League is a vibrant program for girls ages 11 –16 with little to some volleyball experience who are eager to take their game to the next level. We blend skill development with lively, friendly competition in an empowering, inclusive, and high-energy environment. Each session features skills & drills followed by engaging gameplay.

Our coaches’ role is to make sure every participant finds that happy place on the court — developing their skills with a sense of achievement, building friendships, and feeling excited to return each week to their program.

We’re now looking for a Master Coach who shares our enthusiasm, brings creativity to the court, and can inspire young athletes through fun, positive, and purposeful coaching.

Role Overview

As Master Coach of VolleyGirls House League, you’ll lead weekly sessions that balance development, structure, and fun. You’ll be supported by assistant coaches, deliver engaging skill sessions, and foster a supportive team environment to build confidence and a love for the game. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about youth development, brings strong leadership, and thrives in a collaborative, energetic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead weekly House League sessions, including both skills training and structured gameplay.
  • Create lesson plans that develop core techniques (serving, passing, setting, hitting) in line with program goals.
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback to players to support their individual growth and confidence.
  • Foster a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where all participants feel supported and engaged.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff as needed.
  • Support program setup, organization, and cleanup each week.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in volleyball, with prior coaching or playing experience (club, school, or recreational level).
  • Previous experience coaching youth athletes is highly encouraged (preferred age 11–16).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate, instruct, and create a positive team culture.
  • NCCP certification or equivalent coaching credentials (an asset but not required).
  • Must be available evenings/weekends during the program season.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) required prior to start.
